Planning a destination wedding at Ocean Coral Spring Resort in Jamaica? Shania & Shaun travelled from the United States to celebrate their beautiful wedding surrounded by family and friends, and I had the pleasure of capturing all of the behind-the-scenes moments as their wedding content creator. From emotional family interactions and fun wedding trends to unforgettable moments throughout the day, here’s a look inside their Ocean Coral Spring wedding.

Shania & Shaun’s Ocean Coral Spring Wedding
Shania and Shaun travelled from the United States to celebrate their destination wedding at Ocean Coral Spring Resort in Jamaica after spending two years planning their special day. Surrounded by around 60 of their closest family members and friends, their wedding was full of love, laughter and plenty of unforgettable moments.
If you’ve ever visited Ocean Coral Spring, you’ll know just how large the resort is. The morning was busy, with everyone spread across multiple rooms and even different floors. The bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen were all getting ready in separate locations, which certainly kept me on my toes throughout the morning as I moved between each room capturing behind-the-scenes moments.

Despite how busy the day became, what stood out to me most was how welcoming both families were. Shania’s dad was incredibly chatty from the moment I arrived, making me feel like part of the family almost instantly. Her sisters kept everyone laughing throughout the morning, while Shaun’s family were equally warm and kind.
One thing that’s always important to me on a wedding day is looking after everyone, not just the bride and groom. Shaun’s mum was a little fragile, so I naturally found myself helping her whenever she needed it and making sure she was comfortable moving around the resort. Little moments like that matter to me. Weddings aren’t just about beautiful photos or videos. They’re about making sure everyone feels cared for throughout the day.
By the time everyone was dressed and ready, there was such an exciting atmosphere. You could feel just how much everyone had been looking forward to celebrating together.

Why They Chose Wedding Content Creation
Shania and Shaun knew they wanted to remember their wedding day through video, but they were looking for something different from traditional videography. Rather than a long wedding film, they wanted authentic behind-the-scenes moments, trending videos, and a Reel of the Day that they could quickly share with family and friends. They loved the relaxed, natural style of my wedding content creation and wanted those genuine moments documented exactly as they happened.
One thing I loved about working with Shania was how much she embraced being herself. She’s a huge Beyoncé fan, loves dancing, and wanted her personality to shine throughout the day. Instead of focusing on creating perfectly posed videos, we filmed content that genuinely reflected who she is. From fun transitions while getting ready to relaxed moments with her bridesmaids, everything felt natural because it was.
Even Shaun, who admitted beforehand that trends weren’t really his thing, ended up having so much fun once we started filming. Sometimes the grooms are the most hesitant at first, but once they realise how relaxed and easy the process is, they completely change their minds. By the end of the day, he was so pleased that they’d decided to capture those extra moments.
In addition to the behind-the-scenes coverage, the couple also chose to add a full ceremony video, allowing them to relive one of the most emotional parts of their day for years to come.

A Beautiful Wedding at Ocean Coral Spring Resort
Ocean Coral Spring is a fantastic choice for couples planning a destination wedding in Jamaica, especially if they’re travelling with children and extended family. The resort is spacious, beautifully maintained, and offers plenty of restaurants, bars and entertainment, giving guests lots to enjoy throughout their stay. For Shania and Shaun’s ceremony, they chose a stunning location overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Although the ceremony wasn’t directly on the beach, it was perfectly positioned so that the ocean created a beautiful backdrop behind them. As they exchanged vows, you could hear the gentle sound of the waves, creating such a peaceful atmosphere.
I also loved one thoughtful detail that the resort staff arranged. White draping surrounded the ceremony space, creating a little more privacy while still allowing everyone to enjoy the incredible ocean views. It gave the ceremony a lovely intimate feel without taking away from the scenery. Afterwards, we explored some of the resort for portraits before heading to the reception. One of my favourite portrait locations was actually close to the guest accommodation. Beautiful greenery and hanging plants created such a unique backdrop that felt completely different from the beach photos. It’s always nice to mix different locations throughout the day, giving couples a varied gallery rather than every photograph looking the same. Cocktail hour was another highlight. Guests enjoyed delicious Jamaican patties and chicken skewers while chatting before the evening celebrations really got underway. I have to admit… I couldn’t resist trying them myself, and they were absolutely worth it!
The reception took place inside the resort’s conference room, which had been transformed into a beautiful celebration space complete with a spacious dance floor and elegant top table. The staff kept everything running smoothly throughout the evening, serving dinner efficiently while guests enjoyed the celebrations.
One thing that immediately stood out was the energy. Before Shania and Shaun made their grand entrance, the DJ had everyone excited. The bridesmaids danced their way into the room waving flags. While the groomsmen, who had already warned me they weren’t dancers, stuck to exactly what they’d promised earlier in the day — making everyone laugh as they confidently walked in together. Thankfully, the best man happily made up for it with plenty of dance moves of his own!

Favourite Moments from the Day
One of the things I love most about wedding content creation is that I get to capture all the little moments that might otherwise be forgotten. While the big moments are obviously important, it’s often the interactions between family and friends that become the memories couples treasure most.
One of my favourite moments happened before the ceremony when I filmed Shania’s grandmother sharing a quiet moment with Shania’s daughter. She hugged and kissed her so lovingly, and it was one of those interactions that happened naturally without anyone asking for it. Moments like that remind me why I love documenting weddings. They’re genuine, emotional and impossible to recreate. Getting ready with Shania and her bridesmaids was so much fun too. Since Shania loves Beyoncé, we filmed one of the trending bridal videos while she was having her hair done. She absolutely nailed it on the very first take. My assistant and I couldn’t stop cheering because she completely embraced it.
Meanwhile, over in the groom’s suite, Shaun was convinced that filming trends wasn’t really for him. Before we started, he admitted he wasn’t sure about doing them, but after we’d filmed a couple of transitions together, he completely changed his mind. It’s something I see quite often. The grooms are usually a little hesitant at first, but once they realise how relaxed and natural everything is, they end up enjoying it just as much as the brides.
The ceremony itself was full of beautiful moments too. One part that really stood out to me was the sand ceremony. Watching the two colours of sand being poured into one glass vase to symbolise two lives becoming one was such a thoughtful addition to their ceremony. It was actually the first time I’d seen this tradition in person, and I thought it was such a meaningful way to represent their marriage.
The evening celebrations were just as memorable. Shania’s family definitely know how to enjoy themselves, especially on the dance floor! During the father and daughter dance, everything began as you’d expect with a slow dance before her dad suddenly surprised everyone by breaking into some incredible moves. The entire room erupted with cheers, and before long her sisters had joined in too. It was impossible not to smile while filming because everyone was simply having the best time together.

A Moment I’ll Never Forget
Every wedding has one moment that sticks with me long after I’ve delivered the gallery, and for Shania and Shaun’s wedding, this one still makes me laugh. We were filming one of the bridesmaids’ trend videos when disaster almost struck. Halfway through recording, the bottle of wine suddenly flew straight out of one of the bridesmaids’ hands, smashed on the floor, and everyone scattered in different directions like ants. There was a split second of complete silence before the whole room burst into laughter.
Shania looked at me and immediately said, “Please put that on TikTok!”
Thankfully nobody was hurt, and once we’d all stopped laughing, we realised the first take had actually captured everyone’s genuine reactions perfectly. Sometimes the unexpected moments end up becoming the funniest memories from the entire day.
Another moment I’ll never forget happened later during the reception. The venue had indoor cold sparklers for the couple’s entrance, and nobody had warned me how close I was standing to them. The second they went off, I screamed and ran across the dance floor while some guests laughed at me. My assistant couldn’t stop laughing either, and honestly… neither could I. I even remember thinking afterwards, “I really hope somebody filmed that!”
It’s moments like these that remind me weddings don’t have to be perfect to be unforgettable. Sometimes the best memories are the ones nobody planned.

Why I Love Capturing Weddings at Ocean Coral Spring
Ocean Coral Spring is a venue I’d happily return to again and again. The ceremony location overlooking the sea creates such a romantic atmosphere, while the resort itself offers plenty of different backdrops for both photography and wedding content creation. Whether you’re looking for tropical greenery, modern architecture or beautiful ocean views, there’s so much variety without needing to leave the resort.
I also found the staff incredibly friendly throughout the day. The wedding coordinator kept everything running smoothly, and I loved seeing the décor team quietly stepping in to help the bride before she walked down the aisle. Those little acts of care often go unnoticed, but they make such a difference to the overall experience.
If you’re planning a destination wedding with children or a larger guest list, I think Ocean Coral Spring is a fantastic option. The resort has plenty of restaurants, activities and family-friendly facilities, meaning guests of all ages have something to enjoy throughout their stay.
Planning Your Destination Wedding in Jamaica?
If you’re dreaming of getting married in Jamaica, I’d absolutely love to help capture your celebration. Whether you’re looking for documentary-style wedding photography or wedding content creation, my goal is always the same: to create memories that feel genuine, relaxed and true to you.
One tip I’d always give couples planning a destination wedding is to think carefully about your ceremony time. During Jamaica’s warmer months, I generally recommend a 5:00 pm ceremony. The temperatures are a little more comfortable, your guests will thank you, and you’ll often be rewarded with beautiful golden-hour portraits afterwards. If you’re getting married during the cooler months, a 4:00 pm ceremony usually works perfectly to make the most of the daylight before sunset.
Most importantly, choose suppliers you genuinely trust. One of the nicest things Shania said to me before her wedding was, “I trust you. Do your thing.” Having that trust allowed me to focus on capturing authentic moments rather than constantly asking for direction, and I truly believe that’s reflected in the memories we created together.
