Kiera and Desai travelled from Essex, England, to celebrate their destination wedding at Pattoo Castle in Negril, Jamaica. After more than ten years together, they chose to begin this new chapter surrounded by the people they love most in a place that felt meaningful to them. With Caribbean heritage, getting married in Jamaica felt like the perfect way to honour their roots while creating unforgettable memories with family and friends.
One of the things I loved most about their wedding was how relaxed the entire day felt.

The morning was full of laughter. Kiera and her bridesmaids spent time filming fun wedding trends, chatting, and enjoying every moment of getting ready together. Across the venue, Desai and his groomsmen were doing exactly what you’d expect — sharing stories, enjoying a few drinks and laughing together on the balcony before the ceremony.
There was no rush. No pressure. Just everyone enjoying the experience together before the celebrations officially began.
Why They Chose Wedding Content Creation
Kiera and Desai chose to hire me as their Jamaica wedding content creator because they wanted something a little different from traditional videography. Rather than having a heavily directed wedding film, they wanted the genuine, unscripted moments that happen naturally throughout the day. The quiet conversations between family members, the excitement while getting ready, the laughter between friends and all the little interactions that often become your favourite memories afterwards.
Together, we created a bespoke package that focused on capturing those authentic moments while also filming fun wedding trends for them to enjoy and share after the wedding. As quite a reserved couple, they weren’t interested in lots of posing or constantly performing for the camera. They wanted their wedding content to feel natural and relaxed, allowing them to simply enjoy the day while I documented everything unfolding around them.
Alongside the behind-the-scenes moments, they also wanted key memories preserved, including the fireworks, cake cutting, choreographed groomsmen dance and other special moments they knew they’d want to relive for years to come.

One of my favourite things about Pattoo Castle is its character. Unlike many modern resorts, the venue has a distinctive charm with natural wood finishes, stone features and spacious balconies overlooking the ocean and the neighbouring castle. Every level offers a different perspective, making it an exciting venue for photography and wedding content creation alike. Despite previous hurricane damage, the owner has done an incredible job restoring the property while preserving its original charm. Throughout the day, everything ran smoothly, and it was clear how much care had gone into ensuring both the venue and the couple’s experience were exceptional.
For couples planning an intimate destination wedding of around 50 to 60 guests, Pattoo Castle in Negril offers privacy, stunning scenery and a truly memorable setting to celebrate with your closest family and friends.
Behind-The-Scene Moments from the Day
One of my favourite parts of being a Jamaica wedding content creator is capturing the moments that happen naturally throughout the day. They’re often the memories couples talk about long after the wedding is over. Throughout Kiera and Desai’s wedding, there was a wonderful balance of emotion and laughter. From the excitement of filming fun wedding trends during bridal preparations to quiet conversations between family members, every part of the day felt genuine and relaxed.
As the celebrations continued, there were plenty of moments that made everyone laugh, while others had the entire room holding back tears. It’s those unexpected moments that make every wedding unique, and they’re exactly why I love documenting destination weddings in Jamaica.
A Moment I’ll Never Forget
One moment from Kiera and Desai’s wedding will stay with me for a very long time. Before the ceremony, Kiera’s mum surprised her with a beautiful locket containing a photograph of a loved one who had sadly passed away. As soon as Kiera opened the gift, the emotion completely took over. The room fell quiet as they embraced, sharing such a deeply personal moment together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, and I found myself trying to hold back my own tears while continuing to film.
Later, Kiera attached the locket to her bouquet so her loved one could still be part of her wedding day as she walked down the aisle. Moments like these remind me that wedding content creation isn’t just about filming trends or creating beautiful social media videos. It’s about preserving the emotions, memories and meaningful details that become part of a family’s story for generations to come.
Why I Love Capturing Weddings at Pattoo Castle
Every wedding has its own personality, and Kiera and Desai’s celebration was full of unforgettable moments that perfectly reflected theirs. One of the highlights of the evening was the choreographed groomsmen dance. Before the wedding, Kiera kept telling me, “I can’t wait for you to see this!” When the music finally started, I immediately understood why. The groomsmen had clearly spent weeks rehearsing, performing a three-and-a-half-minute routine across several songs with so much energy and confidence. Everyone was cheering, laughing and completely captivated from beginning to end.
There were plenty of lighter moments too. During the bouquet toss, one of the guests was determined to catch the flowers, only for the bouquet to bounce straight off her face before landing on the floor. She burst into laughter along with everyone else, and it quickly became one of those funny moments that nobody will ever forget.
The emotional moments continued throughout the day as well. One of the biggest surprises came when the bride’s stepdad’s daughter arrived unexpectedly. Kiera had no idea she was coming, making the reunion incredibly emotional. Watching everyone hug, laugh and celebrate together was such a beautiful reminder of how important family is on a wedding day.
Another moment that really stood out was Kiera’s first look with her mum. The second her mum saw her in her wedding dress, she froze. Tears filled her eyes as she took in the sight of her daughter before embracing her. It was such a genuine reaction, and one of those moments that reminds me why I love documenting weddings. These aren’t staged emotions — they’re real memories that deserve to be remembered forever.
It’s days like these that make Pattoo Castle one of my favourite venues to work at. Between the incredible scenery, intimate atmosphere and emotional moments shared throughout the day, it provides the perfect setting for couples wanting a relaxed and meaningful destination wedding in Jamaica.
