Love, London, and a Red Bus: An Elegant Civil Ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall
Janet and Colin booked The Westminster Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall. The venue boasts incredible spaces including The Knightsbridge Room, The Soho Room, The Marylebone Room, The Paddington Room, The Pimlico Room and The Mayfair Room. If you’re planning to get married here, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
Why I Love Shooting at Old Marylebone Town Hall
The Westminster Room is one of my favourite London town hall spaces to photograph in. Not only is it spacious, but it also features a grand piano and can accommodate up to 100 seated guests. Do keep in mind that the room is on the darker side, so flash is definitely needed—unless you’re a fan of a grainy, moody aesthetic.
Janet told me with a smile, “I Googled the prettiest registry offices in London and fell in love.”
Whether you’re planning an intimate wedding or hosting a larger guest count, there are fantastic options available. The staff and registrars at Old Marylebone Town Hall are incredibly helpful and friendly. They work together like clockwork to ensure the ceremony runs on time—which is important, as you only get a set amount of time on the famous steps outside. It’s something to keep in mind!
The Ceremony
Janet and Colin’s ceremony was emotional and heartfelt. Their speakers cried, the guests cried… and yes, even I cried! (I always walk with tissues—I’m a mess sometimes, haha.) I truly love love, and being around couples so deeply in love makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Couple Portraits Around Old Marylebone Town Hall
There are so many beautiful photo spots just outside the Town Hall. I mentioned this to Janet and Colin, and they were fully on board with taking a few portraits before hopping on the Routemaster. We stopped near the grand white pillars, and the shots came out beautifully.
After that, we jumped on the Routemaster and headed to Pedro’s Wine Bar—because the reception was calling their name!

This wedding was extra special for me, as it happened to fall on my own wedding anniversary. I’ll never forget Janet and Colin. ❤️
